Data Scientist / Algorithm Engineer

Would you like to work on advanced robotic systems or sensors for autonomous drones? What about mobile ad-hoc radio networks, messaging systems for the emergency services or internet of things sensors? How do you fancy airborne or space-based radars, or developing systems to enable accurate navigation in areas where GPS is not available? These are all current or recent projects we need the brightest minds joining our diverse team to deliver them.

We are looking for an experienced data scientist / algorithm engineer, possessing the experience necessary to play a key role in designing, implementing, and testing algorithms, numerical models and machine learning algorithms for our systems and products. In addition to the technical skills necessary, you will be comfortable explaining complex technical matters to non-technical customers.
The role provides the opportunity to use your technical skills to work with a team to follow exciting new ideas through from concept into reality. You will have the satisfaction of working with a supportive and experienced team of subject matter experts, using state-of-the-art simulation tools and with access to an electronics lab containing the latest test and measurement equipment (spectrum/network analysis/anechoic chambers).

Key desired skills and experience
• BSC/BEng/MSc/Meng in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer science or related discipline.
• 3+ years post-graduate experience of developing, implementing, and testing algorithms.
• Experience in one or more of the following is essential
• Digital Signal Processing (DSP) methods
• Numerical simulations
• Machine Learning
• Image processing
• Software development skills in either MATLAB or Python
• Experience of working on data from either radar, radio, sonar or imaging systems would be advantageous, but is not essential
