Description
Axcis Education are looking to appoint a teaching assistant who has experience working with children with SEND and challenging behaviours.
The school, is based in the Cockerham, Lancashire area and caters for KS3 / 4 students who can no longer remain in mainstream education. The school are looking to appoint a teaching assistant who has experience supporting children with additional needs to work, on a full time basis, with a number of their pupils. The school is not overly accessible via public transport so ideally, candidates will have access to a car. The school are looking to appoint a teaching assistant on a long term basis, with potential for a permanent position, to start as soon as possible.
The role, is full time and school hours are 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday. The role will require you to work with students who have a range of needs including ADHD, autism, SEMH difficulties, MLD and challenging behaviours. Some of the students in this school can display challenging behaviours. Prior knowledge of behaviour de-escalation techniques, such as Team Teach, will be looked upon favourably though it is not essential for this role.
The candidate, should be hard working and empathetic as well as being confident in their behaviour management skills. The applicant must be able to commit to full time hours. The candidate should have some SEND experience and / or experience supporting those with challenging behaviours. This does not have to be from a school setting, we actively encourage applicants from other industries with relevant experience. Pay for this role starts at £12.30 per hour.
