We are working with a number of mainstream, SEND schools, pupil referral units and alternative provisions within the Bath, Bristol and outside areas. We currently have some 1-1 positions as well as general in-class support roles available starting in September. Both full and part time positions are available. A real interest in working with vulnerable children or young adults is a must. The ideal person will be approachable, friendly, empathetic and patient. You could be working with children with disabilities such as autism, Asperger's, ADHD, Downs syndrome, Cerebral Palsy to name a few and you may be expected to administer personal care to those who cannot look after themselves in this respect.
Axcis offers excellent training opportunities, including CPD training sessions on Autism Awareness, Team Teach, Behaviour Management and Non-verbal Communication as well as a long list of online courses that are completely free!
Perhaps you have done a psychology degree and wish to get some real world experience supporting more vulnerable children?
