Axcis Education are currently recruiting for an independent SEN school is at the heart of Exeter that has great resources and a very supportive team.
The role is for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to start on 20th Feb 2023 with a daily rate between £90 and £120. This is a full-time and long-term position that could lead to a permanent position. Hours are 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
The ideal candidate will become an essential part our team and will provide support where needed across the school including teaching whole-class teaching. The school are keen to recruit a committed, passionate, creative and confident person. Ideally you will be an experienced SEN HLTA that is happy working with autonomy to support the needs of all pupils in the class, as well as covering in secondary. It is important that you have a strong understand of SEMH, ASD and ADHD. As an HLTA you will be expected to support and teach across KS3. You will have a positive approach to teaching and learning, with strong behaviour management and a proactive attitude.

Job Requirements
• Full and relevant HLTA qualification or equivalent
• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
• Ability to deliver effectively adapted lessons across the curriculum
• The flexibility to get involved in lunchtime and extra-curricular activities
• Strong knowledge of child protection and safeguarding and the ability to take the lead in vulnerable situations when required.
• Be passionate about meeting the needs of all children
• Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Have a deep understanding of language development
• Value working in teams and partnerships
• To champion the school’s values and have high aspirations for every child, and for yourself & other staff
• To continually strive for best practice in yourself and inspire others.
• A child centred approach to teaching using creative and exciting methods to engage and stimulate
