Description
Axcis Education are looking for a special educational needs learning support worker to support pupils at secondary age with varied complex needs and abilities, in a lovely well maintained and resourced special school. The pupils are aged from 11 to 16 and have a range of needs such as: severe learning difficulties, autism, speech, language and communication difficulties, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities.
Your role as an LSA will be most importantly to ensure the pupils are comfortable, having fun and showing confidence in their own development and set goals. You will support the young people educationally, emotionally, socially, and physically throughout their school day. All classrooms are small with no more than 10 pupils per class including a class teacher and a few LSA’s with you. This creates a very friendly, family feel. Everybody that works for us in the school love working there!
The school are very passionate in making sure they get the right candidates for the role. This is a temporary position, but the school take on many of our staff as a permanent member of their team opening opportunities for you. All pupils have EHCP’s and set goals of what they want and need to achieve. The curriculum is adaptive and child centered. They learn Maths, English PSHE and science along with other core subjects in a more creative approach.
As an LSA at the school you must be prepared to get messy and have fun! This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 3:30. One day a week you will work until 4pm with all staff members taking part in additional training and meetings. We pay a daily rate of £76 per day.
