If so, Axcis may have the opportunity for you! We are recruiting for a qualified maths teacher to work at a pupil referral unit in central Liverpool. The provision caters to pupils who cannot remain in mainstream school due to their challenging behaviour and needs. Many pupils who attend have needs such as oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) and ADHD and so the successful candidate will need to have exceptional behaviour management skills as well as be compassionate. The successful candidate will need to plan and adapt the curriculum to create engaging lessons where pupils can access learning and succeed. This role will be teaching secondary school aged children up to GCSE level.
This exceptional provision is located close to Liverpool city centre close to public transport links and is easily accessible by car. Class sizes are kept small to enable staff to provide targeted support and manage behaviour effectively. Each class benefits from the support of experienced teaching assistants who know the pupils very well.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience teaching children with additional needs and will need to have exceptional behaviour management skills. Team Teach training would be very advantageous to this role.
