PART TIME TEACHERS - TUTORS - LAC / Hard-to-reach / SEMH Pupils - Secondary School - Tameside - Cheshire - Hyde - Manchester.

Axcis Education is seeking to appoint Foundation Level, KS3, and KS4 Part-Time Teachers and/or Tutors to assist hard to reach, delicate, and looked after children at a well facilitated High School in Hyde. As you will be working with individuals this will be on a part-time basis, with a view to becoming a more permanent role for those who are successful (and indeed want it).

THE ROLE:
You will be meeting the identified pupils at a mutually agreed location (local library, or care provision for example) OR via Zoom, OR on campus, for a couple of hours a day, number of days a week to be determined depending on the needs of each pupil.

Your responsibility is to engage, inspire and develop a bond with pupils who have become detached and despondent, and now have gaps in their education as a result of lack of attendance.

Ideally you will be helping them in catching up with missed work, and where necessary, you will be encouraging them to attend on a more regular basis.

YOU WILL NEED:
- An understanding and holistic approach, with a no-nonsense attitude to managing behaviour.
- To be early for EVERY session. This is NON NEGOTIABLE. These are hard to reach children and tardiness will only sever or reverse any progress and relationships rescued with these pupils.
- Find innovative and inspiring ways to engage them and get them re-enthused in their education.
- Report back to both the care provision (where necessary) and the school pastoral managers on progress of each session, and plans for the next.
- Clear DBS on the update service
- Teaching, Tutoring or Higher Level qualifications or relevant experience.
