Description
Axcis Education are working with a primary mainstream school in St Austell who are seeking a teaching assistant to support within their Year 6 class on both a general and 1:1 basis. This role is full time - working hours will be Monday - Friday, term time only.
In this full time primary school teaching assistant position you will be expected to help pupils with their learning, with a particular focus on numeracy and literacy. You will be expected to supervise group activities, set up the classroom for lessons and provide a safe learning environment. On occasion you will be supporting children on a 1:1 basis who perhaps have special educational needs or social and emotional mental health needs, or they might just require additional curriculum support.
To apply for this role you will preferably have worked with primary school aged children previously, ideally in upper key stage two. You should be able to use your initiative, as well as work well within a team. You should be proactive, reliable and engaging. SEN experience, such as autism or challenging behaviour, would be beneficial.
