As Regional Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of customers within a particular geographical region. Through building and maintaining customer relationships, you will be driven to increase sales growth and hit profit targets within your customer base. These customers will be very diverse and will consist of wholesalers, Cash and Carry’s, distributers, buying group members and national account outlets.

Day to day, your role will consist of implementing national & local sales promotions, driving digital excellence, listing of NPD across all away from home categories and ensuring that gaps within a distribution process are filled. It will also involve interactive product demonstrations to customers and the individuals they serve, a skill that they will train you in through a 5-day culinary induction.

Your role in owning, developing and delivering joint business plans with our customers is dependent on your ability to communicate well both written and orally, as well as your passion for driving business growth.

o Degree level preferable, Education to A level or International Equivalent essential
o Experience in the Food Service desirable but not essential
o Preferred experience in end user sales / distributive accounts

Key responsibilities –

o Developing and delivering an annual business plans through collaboration with key customers (a Joint Business Plan)
o Proposing, agreeing on and executing the promotional plan, whilst fully engaging with customer sales teams.
o Ensuring a perfect store online and that the customer’s web site includes all the correct images, description, and product format. Inclusion of banners, adverts, videos and social media assets
o Taking responsibility for the execution of digital promotional mechanics.
o Using negotiation skills to agree trade promotional spend.
o Delivering the agreed targets within this trade promotional spend.
o Maintain a depth and breadth of contact across all customers and team members.
o Manage all accruals and promotional spend to agreed budgets, as well as ensuring that incentives (including discounts and vouchers) are allocated responsibly
o Manage logistic efficiency terms movements
o Execution of adhoc activities within National & Local Wholesalers
o Daily maintenance of the digital CRM system


Key Competencies –

o Ability to work both independently and as a team member, and an ability to form long lasting working relationships with a variety of customers
o Good communication and negotiation skills
o A demonstrable passion for customer needs, and examples of where you have put the customer or clients need at the core of your role and delivery
o A bias for action and simplicity in processes and interactions
o Strong commercial awareness and business acumen
o Ability to analyse data and act on it accordingly
o Good understanding of the Digital World and the role that eCommerce and Digital can play in delivering business growth
o Strong organisational skills and an ability to meet timelines in a disciplined manner
o Strong IT and numerical skills, particularly in MS Office suite and Excel, but also able to demonstrate an ability to understand and utilise other sales reporting systems
