Description
Axcis Education has an excellent opportunity available for a teaching assistant in the Warrington area. Working in a large mainstream secondary school the role would involve supporting students with challenging behaviour, who are at risk of exclusion. This is a full time role working from 8:30 – 15:30 Monday - Friday in an ongoing capacity.
If successful you will be working with key stage 3 and 4 children, providing support for the teacher and assisting children with special educational requirements. As a teaching assistant you will be expected to work 1:1 to help with daily activities and routines. This classroom based teaching role will support children within their classroom environment in a mainstream secondary school. This is a fantastic and rewarding opportunity to help support pupils who need extra guidance.
This support role is based within a well resourced mainstream secondary school providing general support to students with challenging behaviour, helping them reach their full potential.
The school is a short walk to all public transport routes and has ample on site parking. This particular school received a “Good” outcome in its latest OFSTED inspection.
Whilst previous experience working with children who display challenging behaviour is beneficial, the desire to make a difference to these students’ lives is invaluable. Applicants must be confident and follow procedures put in place to de-escalate different situations. You will be expected to promote positive behaviour and encourage pupils to manage their emotions and friendships.
