Description
Have you ever worked at a children's home or been a children's support worker?
Axcis are working with a trust in Cornwall who is looking for someone who has worked in these roles and wants to expand their career in an academic residential environment. You will be working with secondary pupils with severe challenging behaviour. We are looking for a full time Outreach Worker to assist education with children outside of the classroom. You will be working from Monday to Friday from 8:30 - 3:30 paying a rate of £80 per day.
The trust's service provides a personalised education package to complex statemented or EHCP pupils at risk of having to be educated in residential placements. The pupils have failed to succeed in Cornish secondary and special schools or are returning from out of County placements.
The ideal candidate must have a full driver's license and have business insurance or happy to get business insurance. As an Outreach Worker you must be able to have strong skills in lone working, as you will be supporting on a one to one basis with the child. This role is outside the classroom working in the community, such as libraries, apprenticeship programmes or activity led lessons which are designed using a bespoke timetable following thematic learning experiences. This is a personalised learning package for the individual child which you will be assisting and monitoring outside the classroom.
We are looking for people who are good role models and can provide each pupil a trusting relationship so they can progress in society and value others. It is important that you can be resilient, robust and professional and be experienced in de-escalation techniques. Axcis expect the ideal candidate to be reliable, consistent and hands on person who can adapt quickly in their surroundings.
For this role we require the candidate to have the following:
