SEN Teaching assistant position available for school in Chippenham

Axcis Education are looking for an experienced special needs professional for a full time teaching assistant position. The school are looking for someone to support students with complex needs, including those who live with ASC. The school are also happy to offer training in giving medication should any student require this type of care. The right person will find themselves supporting students either 1:1, in small groups or the class as a whole.

This school is part of a wider federation of special needs schools in Wiltshire, so there may be opportunities in the future to support students in one of their sister schools. The federation offers some great training for staff and a great working environment and team that really strive to offer the best support for vulnerable children. The school provides education for children as young as 5 up to post 16.

To apply we are looking for;

- Experience working with children either in a school environment or a care one
- Experience in special needs, including complex needs and ASC
- Nurturing and compassionate disposition and able to handle some behaviours that are related to a students diagnosis
- Can work well on their own or as part of a team, and also follow instructions laid out by the teacher
- Willing to help in other classrooms should the school need to move people about on days they are short staffed
- An enhanced DBS on the update service, or being willing to apply for one
