The role is for a teaching assistant to work in a KS1 class. You will be working 1-1 with a child with ASD in the mornings, then as a general TA in the same class in the afternoons. Your 1-1 child is a lovely girl who loves maths, music and anything sporty! she has bundles of energy and will jump at the chance to get outside and run around! She is highly independent and can be resistant to asking for help, so for this role it is crucial that you take the time to build up a supportive rapport with her. She is very well-behaved, but she will become upset if she thinks she is getting more help than the other students, so you will need to be able to support her from a distance sometimes!
For this reason, in the afternoons you will be working as a general TA, but you will need to be able to recognise when she requires your support.
This TA role is full-time from Monday to Friday, 8-30 to 3.30 with pay rates starting at £11.53 per hour, depending on experience. This role is to start ASAP, ideally before X-mas and is an ongoing role until the end of the summer 2023 term, with the possibility of extending this for the right person.
