1:1 Teaching assistant - Full time
Axcis Education are looking for someone to support a year 5 student full time starting as soon as possible, who has autism tendencies but is struggling a lot to regulate their emotions and engaging with their learning. The student is currently being put through a referral for ASD in the hope for betting funding support. The school is based in the St Annes area in Bristol, so very close to Brislington. This post is 8:30 - 3:30 Monday to Friday and term time only.
The primary school itself is part of a wider academy trust that has great leanings within the special educational needs sector. The school is easy to get to if you are not a driver and use public transport, and is not massively far from the city centre. We are looking for someone that can engage with this student through understanding and patience and be able to show and model good emotional regulation. Ideally we would like someone who has school experience, but if you have worked with children in other means such as a youth worker - we would absolutely consider you.
To work with Axcis an enhanced DBS on the update service is required, but should you not have one currently, then this can be applied for.
