Teaching Assistant Secondary SEN SEND Swindon Full-Time
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant for a large secondary in Swindon. The role is to support their students with SEND needs. You will have a timetable for each week and will be supporting students 1-1 with Autism, ADHD, Asperger’s, SEMH needs and physical difficulties.
The job role:
-follow a timetable to support SEND students 1-1 in lessons
-support student with work, routine, and school life
-monitoring student behaviour and use preventative and de-escalatating strategies
-maintain a safe, engaging learning environment
-follow safeguarding procedures
-create and support opportunities for all learners to thrive
The successful candidate will:
-have experience or knowledge of a range of SEN SEND needs, particularly ASD
-good literacy and numeracy skills to support work
-be able to build positive working relationships with staff and students
-thrive in a fast-paced environment
-a strong knowledge of safeguarding
-enjoy working in a strong team unit to support a variety of students
This role starts mid-January and is Monday to Friday, 8.45 to 3.15 and is until the summer term 2023, with the potential for the right candidate to become permanent.
