Axcis Education are looking to recruit teaching assistant to work on an ongoing, full-time basis in a fantastic, large, mainstream secondary school in Crosby (L23). This role is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to start or further their career within education and working with special educational needs. As a teaching assistant, you will be based in the classroom supporting KS3 and KS4 pupils (ages 7-16) with challenging behaviour who are at risk of exclusion. You will provide general in-class support to a range of pupils with autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH) who can present some challenging behaviour. The support you will provide as a teaching assistant is invaluable in helping pupils with special educational needs and challenging behaviour get the very best out of the classroom learning experience. This could include basic academic and social skills support, as well as chaperoning students between lessons.
Based along various bus routes, this mainstream secondary school has fantastic public transport links and boasts a large secure car park for all staff. The school’s ethos and values recognise that students can only succeed with good lessons and a safe and welcoming learning environment, and in light of this offers continuous professional development sessions for teaching and support staff.
Although prior experience in a similar, school-based setting is advantageous, we would welcome applications from anyone with experience, professional or personal, working with children or vulnerable adults.
