Axcis are recruiting for teaching assistants to work on a full-time basis at a large secondary academy in Kirkby. The role will be a mixture of supporting students on a 1:1 basis and providing whole class support when needed.

The school itself is a large, mainstream secondary school catering to students aged 11-18, and the successful candidate will be expected to be flexible working between year groups. Although the school is a mainstream provision, there are a number of pupils enrolled who require support for additional needs such as autism, ADHD, some challenging behaviour and SEMH needs.

Based in Kirkby, the school is easily accessible by public transport and car. It has most recently been rated as a ‘good’ school by Ofsted, and the school is committed to maintaining this rating. The school employs a diverse staff who are committed to providing the best quality of teaching and support possible and they hope the successful candidate for this role will be with them on a long-term basis.

The ideal candidate for this role will have some prior experience working with children or vulnerable adults, however classroom experience is not necessary. Axcis welcomes applications from a range of professional backgrounds such as care work, youth work, education, nursing and social work.
