Teaching Assistant TA KS1 1-1
A lovely, primary school are looking for a creative, kind teaching assistant (TA) to join their year 1 class. The role is to work 1-1 with a student with Autism. They are a lovely pupil, who love being at school, but need support interacting with their peers as they can be in their own world. The school are looking for someone who can do this gently, modeling interaction, but not forcing it as the student is happy in school; they just want someone to gently guide and teach.
The school is well-established within Chippenham and is accessible by both bus and car. The existing team is very welcoming, and is made up of an inspiring teacher and two wonderful teaching assistants. The team work together to make learning fun and engaging for all students, and are looking for someone proactive, who loves music and messy play!
The ideal candidate will:
-thrive in busy environments, and have eyes in the back of their head!
-be proactive, adaptable and able to take initiative to support students during lessons
-be confident in their ability to enjoy invisible tea parties served up by the pupil you're supporting (they love tea parties with animals)
-be kind, approachable and creative
This role is full-time, from Monday to Friday from 8:30 – 3:30 during term-time, pay starts at £11.53 per hour depending on experience. This role is to start after ASAP until the end of the summer term 2023.
A fully enhanced DBS will be needed to start work. If you do not currently have a DBS on the update service, you will need to be able to get one. Please note, that a DBS costs £44.33, and it is £13 to put is on the update service.
