We are looking for an ambitious and commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join our well-established UK contracting business on an immediate-start basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to work across a diverse portfolio of high-end projects throughout Central London, including prestigious residential properties, restaurants, office spaces and projects associated with the Grosvenor Estate.
You will have the opportunity to work on some of London's most prestigious properties, gaining valuable experience across multiple sectors while working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of a range of projects, ensuring they are delivered efficiently, profitably and to the highest possible standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
-Managing project costs from initial tender through to final account.
-Preparing and reviewing budgets, valuations, variations and cost reports.
-Preparing and managing subcontractor packages and payments.
-Obtaining and analysing quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
-Managing variations, valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
-Monitoring project expenditure and identifying commercial risks.
-Working closely with Project Managers, Contracts Managers and site teams.
-Liaising with clients, architects, consultants and subcontractors.
-Assisting with procurement and contract administration.
-Ensuring projects remain commercially controlled and within budget.
-Maintaining accurate commercial records and reporting on project performance.
-Supporting the successful delivery of high-end residential, hospitality and commercial projects.

Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have:
-A degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management or a related discipline.
-Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the UK construction industry.
-Experience within main contracting, refurbishment, fit-out or high-end construction.
-Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial management.
-Strong knowledge of procurement, subcontractor management and cost control.
-Experience with valuations, variations, final accounts and cost reporting.
-Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and relevant commercial/construction software.
-A strong understanding of UK construction practices and procedures.
-RICS membership or working towards RICS accreditation would be advantageous, but is not essential.
-CSCS, SMSTS or other relevant construction qualifications would be beneficial depending on experience.
