SEN Operational Manager

£400 Per Day
We are currently looking for a SEN Operation Manager for a role in Lewisham. The SEN Operational Manager will lead, organise and manage the SEN Service Unit and team. Provide staff with effective leadership and ensure that there are high quality systems of internal and external communication.
Roles and Responsibilities:
To lead the SEN team in its implementation of the Authority’s access and inclusion policy.
To ensure that there is an effective service plan with realistic targets for the work of the unit, with proper and systematic identified business related training and development needs.
To liaise with the Parent Partnership Service and to attend regular meetings to further the shared understanding of Authority policy and provision.
To develop good working relationships with the Parent Partnership Service and local voluntary agencies, in order to avoid unnecessary referral to the SENDIST Tribunal.
To Chair the SEN multi-agency advisory/decision making panels, determining statutory assessment, placement and provision for pupils with SEN.
To manage the SEN Team on a day to day basis, providing advice, guidance and support, ensuring that the unit is responsive and customer orientated in meeting the needs of children with special needs and their families.
To be responsible for ensuring that systems and procedures to carry out statutory assessments under the Education Act 1996 and the SEN Code of Practice, are in place and working effectively.
To develop and maintain systems for the management of complex and volatile budgets, including the provision of regular monitoring reports to the Special Educational Needs Project Board, DMT, Schools Forum and elected members.
