The Opportunity:
Kenton Black Finance are currently recruiting for a full-time and permanent Accounts Assistant on behalf of a business that is based in the Preston area. This company has a turnover of circa 25 million pounds, and has been operating for over 50 years. The Accounts Assistant will process, record, reconcile and report on financial transactions and provide assistance across the entire finance function. Please note, this job is office based.
Salary and Benefits:
• A salary of £27,000 to £30,000

Your New Role as the Accounts Assistant:
- Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, including data entry and invoice processing
- Maintain accurate records of invoices, receipts, and purchase orders
- Reconcile bank accounts on a daily basis
- Set up and manage customer accounts, including direct debit arrangements
- Support payment runs for accounts payable
- Process employee expenses and supplier payments
- Monitor the accounts inbox and handle customer and supplier inquiries
- Reconcile supplier and customer account balances
- Carry out credit control activities
- Communicate with suppliers regarding payment schedules
- Collaborate with other departments to address account-related issues
Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:
- Previous experience in an accounting or finance role (ESSENTIAL)
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel (ESSENTIAL)
- Proficient in finance accounting software (ESSENTIAL)
- Excellent communication skills (ESSENTIAL)
- High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities (ESSENTIAL)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team (ESSENTIAL)
