As an Accounts Senior, you will take responsibility for managing a diverse and interesting client portfolio, preparing statutory accounts, and overseeing tax compliance work to a high standard. You will play an active role in the day-to-day running of the accounts department, working closely with colleagues at all levels and acting as a key point of contact for clients. Key Responsibilities
Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
Completing and reviewing corporation tax returns and self-assessment tax returns
Providing bookkeeping and management accounts support where required
Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and build strong working relationships
Supervising and mentoring junior members of the team, reviewing their work and providing constructive feedback
Assisting with the preparation of VAT returns and ensuring compliance with current HMRC regulations
Contributing to the continued growth and development of the practice
Requirements
Must have previous experience working within a UK Practice environment
AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/ACA, or qualified by experience
Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and tax compliance
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage confidently with clients
High level of attention to detail and the ability to manage a busy and varied workload
Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks is desirable
A proactive and motivated approach to work, with a genuine desire to develop professionally
