About the School:
Is a mixed, independent Alternative Provision supporting pupils aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The Role:
We are seeking a resilient SEMH Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team. You will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex social, emotional, and behavioural needs through a trauma-informed approach.
You will work closely with teachers and therapists to create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment where pupils can succeed.
Key Responsibilities
• Support pupils with SEMH needs in both classroom and pastoral settings
• Apply trauma-informed practices to support emotional regulation and behaviour
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Assist in delivering personalised learning and intervention strategies
• Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
• Support pupils in developing social skills, resilience, and self-confidence
• Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and carers to support holistic development
About You
We are looking for individuals who are:
• Passionate about supporting young people with SEMH needs
• Patient, empathetic, and emotionally intelligent
• Skilled (or willing to develop skills) in trauma-informed practice
• Resilient and calm under pressure
• Strong communicators who can build meaningful relationships
• Experienced in education, care, youth work, or similar (desirable but not essential)
