As a Youth Worker, you will work collaboratively with the young people, their families, and other professionals to provide tailored support to meet their individual needs and goals. You will be responsible for developing and delivering a range of activities and interventions that promote personal and academic development.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:

• Relevant experience working with young people with challenging behaviour • Understanding of the needs and behaviours of young people with challenging behaviour • Experience of teaching up to GCSE level • Knowledge of strategies and interventions to support young people with challenging behaviour • Good communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work as part of a team

Desirable:

• Relevant qualification in teaching, childcare or youth work • Training in Behaviour Management and/or Safeguarding • Knowledge of the National Curriculum

Education Consultant

Axcis Education is looking for an Education Support Mentor to work on a 1:1 basis with children who have complex needs and struggle to engage with a mainstream learning environment. The role is to provide high quality 1:1 sessions, delivering Mathematics and English at a basic level. There will also be opportunities to develop the children's skills and interests in subjects they have a passion for.

The children (aged 4-16) are based across Torbay. You will be mentoring 2 sessions a day - one in the morning and one in the afternoon.  You will be working on a 1-1 basis, working through a scheme of learning with the pupil. Having access to your own vehicle is a necessity for this role, as you will be traveling with the child and mentoring in the community. You will be flexible with travel arrangements, ensuring you can arrive to the morning session before 9am and the afternoon session before 1pm. Each session lasts 2-3 hours, depending on the child and the targets they are working on.
