The school, is based in the Leyland, Lancashire area and caters for KS3 / 4 students who can no longer remain in mainstream education. The school are looking to appoint a teaching assistant who has experience supporting children with additional needs to work, on a full time basis, with a number of their pupils. The school is not overly accessible via public transport so ideally, candidates will have access to a car. The school are looking to appoint a teaching assistant on a long term basis.

The role, is full time and school hours are 8:30am - 3.30pm Monday - Friday. The role will require you to work with students who have a range of needs including ADHD, autism, SEMH difficulties, MLD and challenging behaviours. Some of the students in this school can display challenging behaviours and candidates who have their Team Teach qualification will be favoured for this role, but it is not essential. 

The candidate, should be hard working and empathetic as well as being confident in their behaviour management skills. The candidate will be looking for a long term role in the Leyland area and able to commit to full time hours. The candidate should have some SEND experience and / or experience supporting those with challenging behaviours. Pay starts from £77.50 per day

Teaching Assistant - Behaviour

Axcis is looking for candidates for a SEND teacher role in East London. This can be a candidate that has experience teaching special needs students in a primary or secondary setting. This is a full-time role, and candidates should be available Monday to Friday. This is a paid to scale role and QTS or similar qualifications are required.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize visual supports, structured teaching methods, and other strategies to support students with autism.
• Provide 1-1 and group support to students in the classroom.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes personal and learning development.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and other staff.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching autistic students or similar SEND in a school setting.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of autistic students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.

SEND Teacher - Full Time

The Role:

A lovely specialist school in Blackburn is looking for full-time teaching assistants to work with children or young people from 4-19 years. The school provides an inclusive education for students with a range of complex needs, including PMLD, autism and severe learning disabilities. This role would be well suited to those coming from a care background, due to the SEND requirements and needs of the children. Ideally you will have prior experience working with children or young adults, though this is not essential. This role would involve working predominantly with autism, though the pupils may also have other SEND needs, such as ADHD, GDD, ODD or speech and language needs. Some pupils can also exhibit challenging behaviour on occasion.

As a school care assistant you must be open to supporting with personal care and swimming. You may be required to work across several age groups so flexibility is essential. The school is looking for new school care assistants to start in January 2024, and will consider permanent contracts for staff who succeed in their role.

SEND teaching assistant

Axcis are working with a lovely village primary school in the EX6 7 area who are looking for a 1-1 teaching assistant to support a pupil in year 1 with suspected autism. This role is to work every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday until Christmas with the potential to carry over in the new year. The hours are working 8:30 - 3:30, a driver is essential as it is hard to locate on public transport. There is a carpark on site for staff.

The child is currently pending an EHCP decision with all four areas of need identified. He is 6 years old and shows traits of ASD. He has good spoken language but a delay in his understanding and finds it difficult to form structured sentences when speaking. He loves being outdoors. He has a lot of sensory seeking behaviours which means he often grabs children and can appear aggressive to others. He is unable to read emotions on others unless they are extreme. The child needs an adult who will invest time in getting to know him and be interested in him and what he can do. He has verbally insulted and physically hurt staff in the past. However he is fully integrated in to his Year 1 and 2 class. Sensory breaks are built in to his day and sometimes his learning takes place in a quieter space such as the library. He has a Now and Next chart and a visual timetable.
