Description

Position: Primary school teacher
Location: Dagenham
Contract Type: full time

Axcis is working with a primary school in Dagenham, looking for a early years teacher to join their team. You will play a vital role in the early stages of a child's education, helping to shape their academic foundation and foster a love for learning. This role involves creating a supportive, engaging, and safe classroom environment where young students can thrive. You will be responsible for teaching core subjects such as reading, writing, mathematics, and science, using a variety of methods to accommodate the different learning styles of their students.
In addition to delivering lessons, you will assess student progress, provide individualised support, and collaborate with parents and fellow educators to ensure that each child reaches their full potential. The role requires patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for helping children grow both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:
• Create engaging, age-appropriate activities to help students understand key concepts.
• Modify teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational needs.
• Teach core subjects such as literacy, numeracy, and other basic academic skills.
• Use a variety of teaching techniques (e.g., group work, one-on-one support, hands-on activities) to ensure effective learning.
• Establish clear rules and expectations for behaviour.
• Manage student behaviour in a constructive way, promoting respect and cooperation among students.
• Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
• Monitor and assess students' progress regularly through tests, quizzes, and informal assessments.
• Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve.
• Keep accurate records of students' progress and communicate with parents about their children's development.
• Collaborate with parents to support the academic, social, and emotional development of students.
• Provide additional help to students who are struggling or need extra attention.
• Foster the emotional and social development of students, helping them develop good communication skills and work habits.

Qualifications and Skills:
• QTS is required
• Experience working within a primary school
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, creativity, and adaptability in managing the classroom and different learning styles.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Strong understanding of child development
