The Role
The successful candidate will support the delivery of the HR strategy across Guernsey and additional jurisdictions. Working closely with the Senior HR Manager, this role focuses on providing guidance across the full employee lifecycle, managing operational HR processes, and building strong internal relationships.
Key Responsibilities
• Employee Lifecycle & Engagement: Manage onboarding, induction programs, probation periods, and offboarding processes. Supervise and coach junior HR team members.
• Employee Relations: Act as the first point of contact for general HR queries, providing guidance on policy and legislation compliance across relevant locations.
• Talent & Recruitment: Support workforce planning and forecast talent needs. Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes and manage relationships with external agencies.
• Learning & Development: Assist with annual training budget forecasting, conduct learning needs analyses, and arrange training initiatives across various offices.
• Payroll & Operations: Manage monthly payroll processes for multiple locations in collaboration with finance teams and outsourced providers. Maintain HR systems and utilize data reporting to identify trends.
Key Competencies & Skills
• Qualifications: CIPD Level 5 or above, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience: Proven background in an HR generalist role, ideally within the financial services sector. Experience supporting multiple jurisdictions is highly advantageous.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of Guernsey employment law and HR best practices across the employee lifecycle.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and modern HR systems (such as HiBob or Teamtailor).
• Attributes: High level of discretion, strong conflict resolution skills, and a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
