Our client is a leading global fiduciary and one of the largest independent private client firms in Guernsey. They are seeking an experienced finance professional to join their progressive internal finance team.
This role is available for candidates based onsite in Guernsey, as well as applicants based in the UK looking for a remote working arrangement. This is a key strategic position requiring exceptional technical accounting skills and experience leveraging AI or automation initiatives to drive finance transformation.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Oversight: Assist the Finance Director with preparing, controlling, and reporting on group financial performance, including consolidated monthly reporting, annual budgets, and strategic plans.
• Team Leadership: Lead, support, and develop the Finance Manager and Assistant Managers, cultivating a high-performance culture through coaching and clear accountability.
• Process Transformation: Identify operational inefficiencies and lead improvements to systems, controls, and automation initiatives across the department.
• Financial Governance: Provide expert guidance on complex accounting matters, maintain robust internal controls, and ensure adherence to relevant regulatory developments and auditing standards.
• Commercial Insights: Monitor workflow, capacity, and profitability metrics to support leadership with cost control, recovery, and multijurisdictional alignment.
Candidate Profile
• Qualifications: Fully ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with up-to-date CPD requirements.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a senior management role within an internal finance arena.
• Technical Expertise: Advanced technical accounting skills paired with experience in raw data implementation, data visualisation software, and AI or automation transformation.
• Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to inspire teams, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and present strategic concepts clearly to the Board.
• Attributes: Strong commercial acumen, analytical mindset, and a dedicated commitment to accuracy and discretion.
