Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Guernsey office of a leading offshore law firm with a rich history and global reach. Working within the Financial Services Law team, the successful candidate will provide expert legal advice across corporate, commercial, investment funds, banking, and regulatory matters.
As part of a collaborative and forward-thinking environment, the Associate will support partners and senior colleagues in delivering a high-quality, client-focused service. This position offers exposure to a wide range of legal work and encourages active involvement in the growth and business development of the practice.
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
• Managing and co-ordinating transactional matters from instruction through to completion.
• Providing efficient legal support to partners across a broad range of client work.
• Conducting legal research and analysis to support complex cases.
• Drafting, reviewing, and summarising legal documentation.
• Managing time recording, billing, and collections in line with firm policy.
• Ensuring compliance with CDD and AML procedures throughout matter lifecycle.
• Supporting the implementation of business development initiatives and identifying cross-selling opportunities.
• Assisting with internal know-how, knowledge sharing, and representing the firm through seminars and articles.
• Updating the firm’s Client Relationship Management system.
• Contributing to the continued development and promotion of the company’s brand.
The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate:
• A UK/Guernsey-recognised legal qualification with 0–2 years PQE.
• Sound understanding of banking, corporate, commercial and/or regulatory work.
• Excellent drafting and analytical skills.
• Strong organisational and time management capabilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• A disciplined, methodical approach with strong attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently while remaining a supportive team member.
• A client-focused mindset and sound commercial awareness.
• A flexible, positive attitude with energy, drive, and a commitment to learning.
• Willingness to develop knowledge of Guernsey offshore law.
