Description
A well-established firm of Chartered Accountants in Bristol is looking to strengthen its senior leadership team with the appointment of an Audit Director. Offering flexible working, a strong company pension, and much more, this is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced audit professional to step into a role with genuine influence and a clear route to further progression. The firm has built a reputation for technical excellence and a supportive, people-first culture, making it an ideal environment for a director-level hire looking for their next long-term move.
Crowe Watson Recruitment is proud to be handling this appointment on behalf of the firm. As a specialist recruitment consultancy working exclusively within Audit, Accounts, and Tax in UK accountancy practice, we understand this market inside out and are known for matching high-calibre candidates with firms where they can genuinely thrive, rather than simply filling vacancies.
The successful candidate will take ownership of a varied portfolio of audit clients, providing strategic oversight, technical guidance, and commercial input at the highest level. You will play a key role in shaping the future direction of the audit department, mentoring senior staff, and contributing to the wider growth and profitability of the firm.
Responsibilities
Oversee a diverse portfolio of audit clients across multiple sectors
Provide technical review and sign off on complex audit assignments
Lead, mentor, and develop audit managers and senior staff
Drive business development and strengthen client relationships
Contribute to strategic planning and the ongoing growth of the audit department
Requirements
ACA or ACCA qualified with significant post-qualification experience
Proven track record operating at Director or near-Director level
Must have previous experience working within a UK Practice environment
Strong leadership, mentoring, and people management skills
Excellent commercial awareness and business development ability
You might not meet all the criteria, but if you are passionate about developing yourself and your career, we'd love to hear from you.
We are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace and welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates, regardless of background.
Crowe Watson is acting as an Employment Agency, and references to pay rates are indicative; salary is dependent on experience.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
