Autism & Communication Support Assistant – Bedworth
Location: Bedworth
Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: £89 – £105 per day / £445 – £525 per week
Axcis Education is currently recruiting for Autism & Communication Support Assistants to work in a well-regarded junior school in Bedworth. This role focuses on supporting children with autism spectrum conditions (ASC) and speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
We are especially keen to hear from applicants with experience in early intervention, autism support, or non-verbal communication strategies.
The Role:
You will:
• Work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils who present with ASC and communication difficulties.
• Support classroom routines using visuals, simplified language and consistent structure.
• Use tools such as PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables to aid understanding.
• Help build emotional regulation and social communication through targeted interventions.
• Collaborate closely with SENCOs, teachers and speech therapists to implement individualised support plans.
About You:
• Experience supporting children with autism or SLCN in schools, nurseries, or care settings.
• Confident using visual strategies and alternative communication methods.
• Patient, nurturing and able to respond calmly to sensory and behavioural needs.
• A positive team player committed to inclusive education.
