Are you looking for a meaningful role where you can make a real difference every day? We are seeking a caring, patient and dependable Autism School Support Assistant to join the team at a Special School, supporting pupils aged 8–16 with autism and social, emotional and communication needs.
This is a full-time role (Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 3.30pm), starting ASAP with a supportive 16-week settling-in period. After this, there’s strong potential to become permanent for the right person. You’ll earn £13.70 per hour while helping young people access learning, feel safe and build confidence.

The school is a specialist provision supporting young people with a diagnosis of autism and associated complex needs, offering education tailored to each pupil’s strengths and challenges in a calm, structured setting. The school provides personalised learning and therapeutic support that helps pupils develop socially, emotionally and academically. What you’ll be doing:
• Supporting pupils with autism and communication needs throughout the school day
• Helping students access the curriculum and feel comfortable in the classroom
• Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement and independence
• Working alongside teachers and support staff to create a supportive learning atmosphere
• Being a calm, reassuring presence who pupils can trust
