Description

Building Surveyor required to work on a diverse property portfolio of c2000 assets that includes large complex office buildings, landing stages, industrial units, controlled schools, monuments, historic listed buildings (high levels of significance), monuments and libraries.

You will be required to deliver a very active programme of responsive maintenance works and condition and compliance related surveys in line with our client’s asset management plan.

The key task will be managing the delivery of capital and revenue funded (up to £500,000 p.a), projects within the facilities management annual maintenance programme. On a daily basis you will be preparing specifications, providing specialist technical evaluation of tenders, dealing with the award of contracts and overseeing f the delivery of works.

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate a wide breadth of experience and knowledge of a range of building types. You will have gained this experience within a Local Authority setting and you will have a good working knowledge of Local Authority contract management processes. It is essential that you have good cost management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ideally, we would like to see membership of a relevant professional body – RICS / CIOB.

Our client is a Local Authority in the South West. The contract will be at least 6 months and the day rate is £420 (umbrella).
