Are you an ambitious and commercially minded leader ready to take full ownership of a thriving trade plumbing, heating, and bathroom supplies branch?
We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading independent merchant group for a Business Manager to run one of their key locations. This role offers genuine autonomy, local decision-making, and the opportunity to drive performance as though it were your own business.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Leading all daily operations of the branch, ensuring smooth, efficient performance
• Setting local sales strategy to grow customer spend, margin, and profitability
• Managing a dedicated team across trade counter, warehouse, administration, and delivery
• Developing strong relationships with local tradespeople and key accounts
• Overseeing stock levels, purchasing, forecasting and site cost control
• Ensuring high standards of safety, compliance, customer service, and branch presentation
• Coaching and developing your team to achieve their full potential

About You
• Experienced in leading a trade counter, merchant branch, or senior sales function within plumbing, heating, or bathroom supplies
• Commercially astute with a solid understanding of P&L, margins, and cost control
• Customer-focused with a passion for building local, long-term relationships
• Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable with making local decisions quickly
• Strong communicator with excellent organisational and leadership skills
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
