College Mental Health Support Worker
Location: Stroud, GL5
Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Temporary with the view to go permanent

The Role:
The Mental Health Support Worker will play a crucial role in providing 1-1 and general classroom support to individuals with complex needs. Your aim will be to facilitate their learning, personal growth and emotional resilience. You will be an integral part of a team that champions inclusivity and works tirelessly to ensure that every individual receives the highest standard of support.
Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1-1 support to individuals with PMLD, adapting your approach to meet their unique needs and goals.
- Offer general classroom support, assisting with the creation and maintenance of a supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists and parents to implement individual care plans/ EHCPs.
- Promote the mental well-being of students by providing empathetic support and encouraging self-esteem and independence.
- Monitor and report on the progress of individuals, maintaining accurate records and contributing to reviews and assessments.
- Assist with the development and use of appropriate resources and materials to support learning and development.
Requirements:
- Experience in supporting individuals with SEND/ SEMH.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to build rapport with students, staff.
- A compassionate and patient approach, with a commitment to promoting dignity and independence.
- The ability to remain calm and focused in challenging situations.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK and subject to enhanced DBS checks.

- Pay: £89 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.
