Job Title: Complex Needs Teaching Assistant
Location: Wandsworth, London
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
Salary: Paid to scale
Start Date: Monday 29th September
An inclusive and supportive school in Wandsworth is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who require additional support in their learning journey.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex learning, physical, or medical needs.
• Assist the class teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
• Support students with personal care, mobility, and communication where necessary.
• Use a range of strategies and resources to support pupil progress and emotional wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and external professionals.
What We’re Looking For:
• Previous experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs (SEN), especially complex needs.
• A patient, caring, and proactive attitude.
• Ability to work well under direction and also independently.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A relevant TA qualification or SEN training is desirable but not essential.
