Job Title: Teaching Assistant for Complex Needs
Location: Wandsworth, London
Pay: Paid to scale
Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm
Start Date: Monday 1st September
We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in Wandsworth, London, in providing exceptional educational support to students with complex needs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for special education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and delivery of individualized educational programs for students with complex needs, including those with physical disabilities, learning difficulties, and behavioural challenges.
- Provide one-to-one support and small group interventions to help students achieve their full potential.
- Collaborate with the teaching staff, multidisciplinary teams, and external agencies to facilitate comprehensive support for students' academic and social development.
- Adapt teaching resources and implement strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Assist with personal care and mobility needs of students as required, always ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Monitor and evaluate students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to individual education plans (IEPs).
- Encourage positive behaviour and support the development of students' life skills.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Teaching Assistance, or a relevant field.
- Proven experience supporting students with complex needs in an educational setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and professionals.
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices and a commitment to child welfare.
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility to adapt to changing needs.
