Deputy Manager – £14 to £15 per hour
Location: Blackburn (BB2)
Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days over 7
Reports to: Registered Manager
A long-established, family-run care home in Blackburn is looking for a proactive and supportive Deputy Manager to help lead the service and ensure residents receive exceptional, person-centred care. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced senior carer, team leader or deputy manager ready to step up, take ownership and play a key role in a warm, resident-focused environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll work closely with the Registered Manager to keep the home running smoothly and maintain high standards of care, professionalism and compliance. Responsibilities include:
• Supporting the Manager with all operational duties and deputising in their absence
• Providing clear leadership to the care team and modelling best practice
• Ensuring all care delivered is person-centred, safe and tailored to resident needs
• Overseeing and signing off care plans and related documentation
• Ensuring staff receive supervision, training and ongoing development
• Managing rotas to ensure correct staffing levels and skill mix
• Maintaining accurate records, audits and documentation in line with standards
• Working alongside multidisciplinary teams to maximise resident wellbeing
• Promoting and protecting the welfare of every resident in the home

What We’re Looking For
Essential
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar care environment
• Experience supervising or leading a team
• Strong written and verbal English skills
• Ability to maintain high-quality care plans and documentation
• Strong communication skills with staff, residents and families
• Confident problem-solving skills and sound judgement
• A positive, supportive, approachable attitude
Desirable
• Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., NMC)
• Supervisory or management qualification suited to the role
• Experience supporting people with additional needs
• Knowledge of rota planning, staffing levels and skill mix management
• Experience chairing meetings or delivering training
