Description

Our client specialises in the specification, installation and maintenance of all types of commercial doors, door hardware, access control systems and window winding equipment. The company works with local authorities and commercial organisations to provide both planned and unplanned door maintenance on buildings.

We are now seeking to add to our service engineering team and are looking for someone who is based in the Berkshire region with a full driving license. You may be suitable if you have an engineering/tool-making background and are happy to work with all material types, including timber.

Responsibilities
• Carrying out both planned work and reactive maintenance/call-outs
• Working on your own initiative with support from office staff where required as well as part of a team on larger jobs
• Fault finding and diagnosis along with advising customers of potential faults and how these can be rectified
• Ensuring work is carried out to a high standard and your presentation is of an equal high standard
• Work will involve all types of manual and auto doors including commercial windows, fitting of steel doors aluminium doors and timber doors as well as maintenance and repair works including glazing. Locks, door closers and access control would be a desirable additional skill.
• Site work installing new steel doors throughout the south of the UK

Desirable Skills
• Automatic Door engineer with the above experience
• Commercial Roller shutter experience

Requirements in the role:
• A full driving licence is essential and the position is subject to a criminal records check. CSCS, PASMA, and IPAF qualifications would be an advantage; however, full training will be provided as required.
• Must be flexible and willing to work overtime if required
• Ensuring your vehicle is kept clean and presentable & stocked up with parts
• Capable of manual work, lifting and physical duties
• Managing the allocated workload on a daily basis
• Covering call-outs as and when required in conjunction with office instructions
• Completing job sheets and obtaining signatures on completion of work on a daily basis
• Attendance at the annual stock count (one Saturday a year)
• Working in schools and colleges/universities - you will be required to clear a DBS check with the police
• Any other duties that you may reasonably be requested to do from time to time.

Salary is dependent on experience.
