Axcis Education are supporting an independent SEND provision who are looking for a full time Economics Teacher to work in an Independent Specialist Provision in the South Hams area, delivering bespoke economics lessons to a post 16 student with ASD and complex needs on a 1:1 basis. The working hours for this role are from 8.30 to 4:30, with pay rate ranging from £27,631 to £38,899, depending on your previous teaching experience and qualifications.
The successful candidate will design and deliver personalised Economics lessons that meet the student’s individual learning needs, interests and aspirations. You will be part of a highly supportive team that works collaboratively to help every learner overcome barriers and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
•Deliver engaging and tailored Economics lessons on a 1:1 basis.
•Support the educational and personal development of a post-16 student with ASD and complex needs.
•Work collaboratively with colleagues and therapists to provide a holistic learning experience.
•Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
•Experience teaching Economics at secondary or college level.
•Qualified Economics or Secondary Maths Teachers (QTS or equivalent) are encouraged to apply.
•Unqualified Teachers with relevant experience are also welcome.
•Experience working with vulnerable young people or learners with additional needs is desirable but not essential.
•A nurturing, patient and positive approach to building relationships with students.
