Our client, a Local Authority in the West Midlands, is looking for an experienced Food Environmental Health Officer to join their team on a full-time basis. The role is primarily focused on delivering a programme of scheduled food hygiene across a range of food businesses, alongside some reactive work responding to food-related complaints and service requests. You'll assess compliance with food safety legislation, take appropriate follow-up action where standards aren't met, and maintain accurate records of inspections and interventions.

Candidates should be experienced Environmental Health Officers with a strong working knowledge of food hygiene and food standards legislation, and a proven track record of delivering programmed inspection work within a local authority setting. Good organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to manage a caseload independently, prioritise effectively, and communicate clearly with food business operators. Experience handling both planned and reactive food safety work would be beneficial.

This role pays £50–£53 per hour (Umbrella) on a full-time basis, based in the West Midlands. The postholder will work from home when not out carrying out inspections. If interested, please get in touch to discuss further or submit your CV.
