A Council in Essex is seeking an experienced Environmental Health Officer for an initial 3-month contract, offering £45.00–£50.00 per hour (umbrella, inside IR35). This hybrid opportunity requires onsite attendance two days per week and will focus primarily on complaints-driven work within Private Sector Housing, including HMO investigations, enforcement activity, and ensuring compliance with Environmental Health legislation.

The successful candidate will have proven experience within Environmental Health, particularly around statutory nuisance investigations, housing complaints, and regulatory compliance. You will be confident managing a varied caseload, serving notices where necessary, and providing professional advice and support across a range of Environmental Health matters. Experience responding to Planning and Licensing consultations would also be beneficial.
