Description
An Environmental Protection Team Leader is required for a local authority in the East Midlands, offering a hybrid working pattern and a rate of £47 per hour (Umbrella). This role involves leading a team while delivering specialist input on planning consultations, with a key focus on noise, contaminated land, light, and air quality. The position also includes a strong enforcement element, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and taking action where necessary.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience within Environmental Protection, with in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and case law. You will bring a proven track record in enforcement, including serving notices and leading prosecutions, alongside experience managing a team and conducting 1:1s. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be dealing with members of the public and working collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
In return, the role offers a competitive rate of £47 per hour on an Umbrella basis, flexible hybrid working, and the opportunity to step into a position where you can make an immediate impact. Due to the nature of the district, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance is required, and there may be a need to work outside of standard office hours depending on service requirements.
