Description
As an Estates Surveyor you will work on behalf of this LB Council to provide a comprehensive, estates management, valuation and property advice service. You will be managing the Council’s non housing property portfolio to the best advantage in both use and financial terms.
You will advise on all aspects of property management and valuation concerning property held on or managed by the Council to client departments and the Council.
On a daily basis you will provide inputs into the valuation exercises, ensure covenant conditions on properties are met, maintain and update records and carry out project work related to the submission of planning applications.
Other duties will include inspecting properties as required and to advising senior officers on condition and possible maintenance needs. You will assist in the preparation of rental assessments and reviews and take a lead role in negotiating terms and charges for easements, way leaves, licences, etc in respect of Council Land.
This is a role that carries a high level of responsibility and you will be working fairly autonomously. We are therefore looking for someone with extensive prior experience operating in this capacity within a Local Authority property team. You will be an Associate or Fellow Member of RICS with a proven track record in managing complex land and property issues.
The role will be offered for 3-6 months to start with but is fully expected to extend.
You will be required in the office in South West London 3 days per week.
The day rate is £500-£550 (inside IR35).
