EYFS Support Staff (Nursery to Year 2) – Sutton
Start Date: September | Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm | Term Time Only
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS Support Staff member to join a welcoming early years setting in the Sutton area from September.
This is a unique provision operating from Nursery through to Year 2, but it is not a formal, traditional classroom environment. The setting follows a progressive, child-centred approach based on free-flow, continuous provision, where learning is flexible, exploratory, and highly responsive to children’s individual needs.
The ethos of the setting places strong emphasis on EYFS principles, with children accessing learning both indoors and outdoors throughout the day – whatever the weather. Outdoor learning is a key part of the provision and is embedded into daily practice.
The Role:
Supporting children across Nursery, Reception, and Key Stage 1 (up to Year 2)
Working within a play-based, child-led learning environment
Delivering high-quality support within continuous provision
Supporting at least one child with an EHCP
The child has autism and speech & language needs
Working closely with teaching and SEN teams to ensure consistent support and engagement
Encouraging communication, independence, and social development
The Ideal Candidate:
Experienced within EYFS settings (Nursery / Reception / Year 1/2)
Confident working within non-traditional, flexible learning environments
Understanding of child-led learning and continuous provision
Experience supporting children with autism and speech & language needs
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions as part of daily learning
Patient, proactive, and passionate about early years development
EYFS practitioners, Nursery Nurses, or experienced Teaching Assistants would be highly suita
