SEN EYFS Teaching Assistant
Location: Teignbridge
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Ongoing
Pay: £90 - £95 per day
We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive SEN EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and energetic Early Years classroom supporting pupils with complex needs.
About the Role:
This is an immediate start, ongoing position working within an established team (Teacher + 2 TAs). You will support a small group of 6 pupils, most of whom are pre-verbal or non-verbal, with some new to a school setting.
The classroom is lively and fast-paced, requiring someone with:
• Clear spoken English ( to support speech and language development)
• Strong communication skills and confidence using visual or alternative communication methods
• A calm, resilient, and hands-on approach
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Proven experience supporting children with SEN in EYFS or primary
• Experience with Makaton, PECs, or AAC devices (desirable but not essential)
• A proactive and energetic attitude
• Strong behaviour management and sensory awareness
Requirements:
• Must be comfortable working in an active, high-energy environment
• Able to work as part of a collaborative and supportive team
• comfortable with Personal care, nappy changing etc
