Company Details and Job Overview:

An international manufacturing business are looking to appoint a new Financial Controller to be based at their Blackpool manufacturing site. This is a varied and hands on role which offers autonomy, leadership and scope to add value across many areas including systems and process enhancements.

This is a full time, permanent role. However my client is also interested in candidates who are able to provide short-term interim support whilst they go through the permanent recruitment process.

Your New Role as Financial Controller:

Reporting to the Finance Director, as Financial Controller your responsibilities will include:

• Line management of a small finance team
• Ownership for all financial operations for the business including monthly reporting/management accounts production and review
• Preparation of budgets
• Statutory accounts production, being the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors
• Preparation and submission of HMRC returns including VAT and corporation tax
• Oversight of accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Overall responsibility of payroll (outsourced) and pension scheme
• Ongoing review and development of existing processes and systems
• Close liaison with manufacturing and operational teams
• Provision of ad hoc analysis and reports to aid effective decision making

Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:

The successful candidate will be fully qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) and proven in a similar level role within a fast paced manufacturing environment with extensive knowledge of manufacturing activity and cost accounting. With strong technical accounting capabilities, you will also demonstrate strong commercial acumen with the ability to implement improvements and drive efficiencies.
