We are currently seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive Mainstream Primary School in Altrincham. This school is committed to delivering high-quality education to all students, with a strong focus on providing tailored support to children who need it most.
About the Role:
KS2 Focus: You'll be working mainly in Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6), supporting children both in class and in small group/1:1 interventions.
1:1 Support: A key element of this role involves supporting children with low ability and Special Educational Needs (SEN), both inside and outside of the classroom.
Adaptation of Resources: You’ll help adapt teachers' resources to ensure they are accessible to students with different learning needs and abilities.
Inclusive Support: You'll play an important role in ensuring children with additional learning needs (SEN) are fully included in all activities, promoting engagement and progress across the curriculum.
About You:
Experience in Primary Education: You must have previous experience working in a UK-based primary school, ideally with Key Stage 2 children.
Understanding of SEN: A strong understanding of SEN is essential, with the ability to use different strategies to support children with a range of learning difficulties.
Knowledge of Adapting Teaching Materials: You will need to have experience in adapting teaching resources to meet the specific needs of individual students or small groups, particularly for those working below age-related expectations.
Team Player: You'll be working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure that each child has the right support, so you’ll need to be collaborative, communicative, and proactive.
DBS Check: An enhanced DBS check will be required (we can assist with this if necessary).
About the School:
This well-established, friendly primary school in Altrincham is known for its supportive environment and its commitment to ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed. The school promotes a culture of inclusivity where all children, regardless of ability or background, are valued and supported. Competitive pay: Up to £104 per day, depending on experience.
Long-term, full-time role with potential for extension or permanent placement.
Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Supportive, collaborative environment with regular check-ins and feedback from the school and agency.
