Job Opportunity: Learning Mentor – College Setting
Location: LS23
Day Pay: From £89 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate or ASAP
Are you passionate about supporting young people in further education? Axcis Education is currently seeking a dedicated and empathetic learning mentor to work within a college setting, supporting students with a variety of educational and emotional needs.
As a learning mentor, you’ll work closely with students aged 16–19, helping them overcome barriers to learning and succeed in their educational journey. This role involves one-to-one support, small group work, and collaboration with teaching staff and SEN teams to ensure each student receives tailored support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support learners with additional needs (SEND, SEMH, or EAL)
• Help students stay engaged, motivated, and focused in their studies
• Provide emotional and academic support in and out of class
• Track progress and assist in developing support plans
• Work collaboratively with college staff and external agencies
About You:
• Experience working with young people in an educational or support role
• Knowledge of SEN, SEMH, or behaviour support is highly desirable
• Calm, patient, and resilient under pressure
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A valid DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
