Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Bridgwater
Pay Rate: £89 per day
Contract: Full-time – Term Time Only (Temporary or Long-term)
Hours: 8:45am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)

Are you passionate about helping young children with additional needs to feel included, supported, and able to achieve their best? We are looking for a patient and committed Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming rural primary school in Bridgwater. In this rewarding role, you will provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Key Stage 1 pupil with autism, ADHD, and behavioural needs.
About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll be working closely with one child, ensuring they feel safe, supported, and able to access their learning each day. With the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO, you’ll implement consistent strategies to promote engagement, independence, and emotional regulation, while fostering a nurturing and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide personalised 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil with complex SEND needs
• Work with the teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning strategies and behaviour plans
• Encourage confidence, resilience, and social interaction in class and during play
• Support transitions, daily routines, and structured activities
• Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and calm classroom environment

• Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, or behavioural needs
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
