Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (Primary School)
Company: Axcis Education
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Term-time only, Agency work
Location: M24
Axcis Education is currently recruiting a learning support assistant to work in primary school In Rochdale supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
We welcome applications from candidates with a care background, as well as those with school-based experience, provided you have professional or personal experience supporting children with SEND.
The Role:
• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
• Assisting children with SEND to engage in learning and daily school activities
• Working closely with class teachers and SEN staff
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Supporting children both inside and outside of the classroom
Essential Requirements:
• Experience working with children with SEND or personal experience supporting children with SEND
• Background in education, care, youth work, or similar (school experience not essential)
• Enhanced child and adult DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
• Punctual, reliable, and committed
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a school environment
• Patient, caring, and resilient attitude
